David Schwartzwald, M.D. earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. He continued graduate school studies in the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Schwartzwald received his medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. Fifth Pathway and two years of General Surgery Residency were completed at The Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. After finishing his 4 year residency in Urology at Brookdale, Dr. Schwartzwald moved to Boca Raton in 1987. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Diplomate of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Schwartzwald has practiced urology in South Florida since 1987. He is currently on staff at Boca Community Hospital, North Broward Medical Center, and the Delray Community Hospital. He is also on staff at the West Boca Medical Center, where he has served as Chief of Surgery and as Chief of the Medical Staff at the hospital.
Dr. Schwartzwald was the first urologist to perform brachytherapy (radioactive seed implantation) for prostate cancer in the Boca Raton area. He is an experienced urologist with a special interest and training in Erectile Dysfunction and Urinary Incontinence from the Southwest Impotency Center in Van Buren, Arkansas.
As a specialist in sexual dysfunction, Dr. Schwartzwald treats a wide range of sexual circumstances such as premature ejaculation, Peyronie’s curvature, and erectile dysfunction. It is extremely important for men to accurately diagnose the cause of their sexual dysfunction and institute the most appropriate therapy.
Dr. Schwartzwald is skilled at the medical treatment of erectile dysfunction, BPH treatment and the UroLift® System, correction of abnormal penile curvature, and the treatment of Peyronie’s disease. Although he is an advocate for all of the advances in the treatment of ED, including oral medications such as Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis, Dr. Schwartzwald is also very active in the surgical correction of erectile dysfunction. His delicate technique places an internal pump into an easily accessible, inconspicuous position in the scrotum. By using the “invisible” pump, in less than one minute, sterile saline solution is cycled into the penis giving back normal function and enhanced endurance.
